Thanks for your interest in the art of storytelling!

As a performer I have reinvented myself several times (Whispers the Clown, Magician, Puppeteer, Mother Goose, Granny Magic and Storyteller Glenda Bonin). These new directions have taken place in response to a need to pivot and redirect my talent, energy, and interests to reach new audiences and grow. I am currently developing a new body of work relating to the Westward Movement and Arizona History. This is not to say that I am no longer available to the audiences I have served in the past. This is simply a new direction and focus of my energy as I continue to grow as a performer and storyteller.

I’ve been having a lot of fun trying out different science experiments to go along with Squirrley Shirley Discovers the Magic of Science, our 2014 Summer Reading Program show for the library “Fizz, Boom, Read!” theme.

So far, my recent messages on this page have covered one experiment for FIZZ and one for BOOM. My last installment was a list of some of the fantastic science experiment books you might want to READ!

Well, today I have a surprise for you! I found an experiment that does two cool experiments. No kidding. This is pretty exciting stuff.

I hope you have fun with this one!

Here’s what you want to gather up if you try this experiment. REMEMBER, it is always best if you have an adult with you when you do things like this.

1/2 cup of white vinegar

1 plastic water bottle

1 small balloon (party size)

A small funnel

Baking soda

* Pour the vinegar into the bottle and set aside.
